Lyft "Stranger Things" Mode

Lyft "Stranger Things" Mode

DEEPLOCAL / LYFT / NETFLIX

To promote the launch of the Netflix hit show’s second season, Lyft riders in Los Angeles were able to request the Stranger Things mode when planning their route. Once passengers were picked up and on their way, the driver’s phone would mysteriously begin to glitch and erratically repeat, “You have arrived at your destination!” When the driver would pull over and attempt to fix the issue, locks on the stopped car would start shuddering while the backseat began to lurch unpredictably. To add to this chaos, we modified the the front seat headrests to spray passengers with a disorienting mix of mist and air until the ride’s exciting climax: a demogorgon stretching the vehicle’s headliner as it attempts to pierce its way into this dimension. At the very end, riders were greeted by Hawkins Lab scientists handing out warm Eggo waffles.
